After final cleaning, the castings are
checked for dimensional tolerances and prepared for three finishing operations --
- Heat treated to normalize the microstructure and
mechanical properties
- Non-destructively evaluated by dry powder magnetic
particle inspection
- Packaged for shipping to the outside machine shop
