Summary
Aluminum Cylinder Block for
General Motors Truck/SUV Engines

GM Powertrain has been producing the cylinder blocks and heads for almost 5 years.  The benefits of the lost foam casting process in aluminum are:

  • Lower weight and more power in the engine.

  • Reduced production and machining costs.

  • Improved dimensional tolerances.
