Additions to the Aluminum Alloy |
- The baseline aluminum alloy for this application is C 355
with a T6 temper.
(The C355 alloy has a
compositon of 4.5%-5.5% Si, 1.0%-1.5% Cu, and 0.40%-0.60% Mg)
- Silicon carbide particulate can be added to aluminum alloy (A
359) at 10vol% and 20vol% levels.
