Operators Handbook

CRAFTSMAN Wood Lathe Operator Instructions Service Handbook Manual 0794

August 5, 2026 //  Leave a Comment

Manual Description:Number of Pages: 33, printed 5.5″ x 8.5″ This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of an original Craftsman Wood Lathe Handbook. This is a complete handbook covering all the branches of lathe operation in the home workshop with over 100 hundred photographic illustrations and line drawings. This book goes into more detail on operations and set ups than the owner manuals do. It even includes information on how to remove spirs, centers, and tailstock spindles. The information in this book is good for a variety of different vintages and brands of wood lathes. Please see index below. One reason that I’ve reprinted some of these older books is because they have a lot of information with illustrations that get directly to the point. Contents: BALLS…………………….13,25 BOWLS…………………….13,14 BOXES……………………….12 BUFFING……………………..27 CABRIOLE LEG…………………17 CENTERING………………….4,20 CLUBFOOT…………………….17 CYLINDERS………………….5,12 DRILLING…………………….23 DUPLICATE TURNINGS…………….8 FACEPLATE TURNING………….10-14 FINISHING……………………29 FLUTING AND REEDING…………..18 FRENCH POLISHING……………..29 GRINDING………………….26,30 INLAY TURNING………………..15 LARGE WORK…………………..14 LONG TURNINGS…………………9 METAL SPINNING……………….28 METAL TURNING……………..20-22 OVAL TURNINGS………………..16 PICTURE FRAMES……………….13 PLASTICS………………….25,27 PLUG CHUCKING………………..12 POST BLOCKING………………..15 REDUCED SQUARES………………15 SANDING…………………..26,27 SEGMENT TURNINGS……………..14 SHARPENING CHISELS……………30 SIZING CUTS…………………5,8 SLENDER TURNINGS………………9 SPINDLES (How To Turn)……….5-9 SPLIT TURNINGS……………….18 STEADY REST…………………..9 TAPER TURNING (Metal)…………22 TAPS AND DIES………………..24 TWIST TURNINGS……………….19 WAX FINISH…………………..29 Overview: I have collected this information for many years and have found the information they contain to be priceless in using and setting up the machines properly. I believe this manual will be a valuable resource of knowledge that will provide a lot of helpful information that is often hard to find. My manuals are not photocopies. I maintain a high standard of quality in my reproductions. Most of the manuals I reproduce look better than their originals. I have professionally digitally edited every page, and removed stains, wrinkles and handwriting. All of the manuals are printed on thick white paper to withstand shop wear and tear.Visit our eBay Store! We have over 1,100 manuals available. From our shop to yours. We get this. But you get this! SEE “Which manual works with your lathe:” below. I am aware that there are original versions of this manual sold on eBay, but I am not trying to compete with those manuals. By many request, this collection of manuals was reproduced for my Atlas Craftsman-Sears customers.
