How to Run a Lathe Instruction Manual on Metal LATHE WORKS 0372
Manual Description:Number of Pages: 42 This is one section of one of the best how to books I have ever seen. I have been collecting manuals and books for years now, and I feel that this book has presented the information that people need to know in a very direct and concise manner with great diagrams. This book was put together for instructors during WWII, and it was a combined effort of some of the major lathe producing companies like South Bend, LeBlond & Regal, Brown & Sharpe and others. So the information in this book is universal and can be applied to any metal lathe. So if you are wanting a book to learn more about how to set up and use a lathe; refresh your lathe skills; or just need information to check back to, these are a great set of direct and to the point books that will greatly help you. Monarch 10″ EE Lathe 1940’s Operator and Parts Manual
–> Description –> Monarch 10″ EE Lathe 1941 – 1949 Tube Lathe (No Schematic. I have had a lot of this version of the 10ee manual. None had a schematic ) 3HP motor Serial number EE-41007 Operator, Parts 36 pages The following information was provided by timeghost he does a MUCH better job explaining the tube portion of these machines……. “10EEs were being built during WW2. Material and component shortages caused the design of 10EEs to vary from month to month. In 1941, the massive hydraulic/hydrostatic variable-speed unit manufactured by Sundstand that provided the variable speed drive for 10EEs up to that time was replaced by a three-phase AC motor driving a 3 HP DC generator which provided power for an electronic variable-speed DC motor for the lathe. These are today referred to as, the “Motor-Generator” drive units. There are many of these still around for sale in the used machinery marketplace. The manual, EE – 41007, RI 01075, 127-126165, covers this type of drive system.” THIS MANUAL ” In 1949, the three-phase AC motor-DC generator drive system was replaced by a WiaD (Works in a Drawer) system that used electronic-tube controlled thyratrons to rectify AC current to a variable DC voltage to drive the lathe’s DC motor. Many vacuum tubes were used to control the rectifier tubes and other functions. This “works in a drawer” set-up is described by the vacuum tube schematic that you included in my purchase. Through the 1950s, the WiaD drive was redesign and improved.” Our Manual … https://www.ebay.com/itm/176379703255 “In 1960, the WiaD drive was replaced by fitting the 10EE with a more powerful 5 HP DC motor and a “module drive” that used an all-solid-state electronic module to control the electronic components, with the exception of the thyratrons. This is the motor control system that is covered in the EE-51891 manual that I purchased from you. This is the motor drive system I wanted an electronic schematic for, which is contained in the manual. There were around 3,000 10EE lathes sold with this drive system.” Our Manual. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175617101951 YOU GET A COPY AND A EMAILED PDF!
