August 5, 2026 //  Leave a Comment

Manual Description: Number of Pages: 5 This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of an original Craftsman 109.21270 Metal Lathe Operating and Parts Manual. This manual contains information on operating instructions, adjustments, the threading chart, and parts diagrams with parts list for this lathe. Overview: I have collected this information for many years and have found the information they contain to be priceless in using and setting up the machines properly. I believe this manual will be a valuable resource of knowledge that will provide a lot of helpful information that is often hard to find. My manuals are not photocopies. I maintain a high standard of quality in my reproductions. Most of the manuals I reproduce look better than their originals. I have professionally digitally edited every page, and removed stains, wrinkles and handwriting. ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN 12″ Pedestal Metal Lathe 3995 & 3996 Owner Parts Manual 0047

Manual Description:Number of Pages: 21 This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of an Atlas 12″ Pedestal/Cabinet Metal Lathes for Models 3995 and 3996 Instructions and Parts Manual. The manual covers how to properly mount the Atlas lathe and motor on a bench. It contains information on setup, lubrication, maintenance, and adjustments. The manual also contains clear and easy to read explosive view diagrams of all the parts with parts descriptions. This would make it easier to take apart to work on, or order new parts for the Atlas 3995 and 3996 lathes. These models were manufactured in the 1970’s. We also have the Manual of Lathe Operations that would cover these model. I highly recommend this book, because it covers how to properly operate a metal lathe, includes the threading charts, and shows how to use all the attachments Atlas made for this lathe. We carry 6 different versions of this book to cover the different models the one that covers the Atlas 3995 and 3996 is located at this link: Atlas Craftsman Manual of Lathe Operation Book for 12″ Crossfeed Lever Contents: INSTALLATION Mounting Cabinet Model Lathes…………………………4,5 Leveling……………………………………………..6 LUBRICATION Lubrication Chart……………………………………..7 CONTROLS AND OPERATION Back Gear Controls…………………………………….8 Changing Spindle Speeds………………………………..8 Headstock…………………………………………….8 Quick-Change Gear Box………………………………….9 Carriage……………………………………………..9 Tail stock…………………………………………..10 Sequence of Engaging Controls………………………….10 Chucks and Face Plates………………………………..11 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENTS Preventive Maintenance………………………………..11 Adjusting Gibs…………………………………….11,12 Adjusting Spindle Bearings…………………………….12 Adjusting Compound and Cross Feed Cranks………………..12 Adjusting Lead Screw Safety Clutch……………………..12 PARTS INDEX Headstock……………………………………………13 Quick-Change Gear Box…………………………………14 Saddle and Slides…………………………………….15 Apron……………………………………………….16 Bed and Tailstock…………………………………….17 Guards………………………………………………18 Underneath Drive Assembly – Cabinet Model Lathes…………19 Cabinet Assembly……………………………………..20 Tumbler Assembly……………………………………. 21 Overview: I have collected this information for many years and have found the information they contain to be priceless in using and setting up the machines properly.
