The Steel Founders’ Society Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational and scientific foundation, established to secure a successful future for the steel castings industry by encouraging students to work in the industry. The Foundation was established in 2000 with a generous donation from a great visionary in our industry, Robert M. Schumo. Since that time, the Foundation has grown through the generosity of donors who care about the future of the steel casting industry.
Each year the Foundation supports student interns and provides scholarships upon successful completion of the internships.
The Foundation pays for steel casting research projects. The Foundation sponsors the Cast in Steel competition for university teams to compete to make a cast Viking axe for a Forged in Fire*Note* type competition. The Foundation also supports various other industry development projects. Your donation could help fund these projects!

We need contributions from individuals and companies to sustain these scholarships, developments, and research. Steel Founders’ Society Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization and contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
For more information about the Foundation, contributions, or the internship, please contact Raymond Monroe, Executive Vice President, Steel Founders’ Society of America.
