The
plate frame is produced in
a six step process.
1.
The molten iron (2530-2570F) is poured into the assembled sand mold and allowed to
cool for 2-3 hours.
2. After
cooling, the casting is removed from the sand mold by "shaking
out" the sand.
3.
The riser is wedged off the casting.
4. The
casting is Wheelabrator shot-basted to remove residual sand on the surface. 5.
Flash lines and the riser stub are ground off. 6.
The casting is finished painted, prior to machining. |
