The Application --
BMW uses an innovative variable control valve system, called "Valvetronic",
in their 4, 8, and 12 cylinder engines for the BMW and Rolls Royce vehicle
lines. Valvetronic engines use a combination of hardware and software to
eliminate the need for a conventional throttle mechanism.

Valvetronic system reduces maintenance costs, improves cold start
behavior, lowers exhaust emissions, and provides a smoother running
engine.
