names of welding electrodes, properties of welds deposited according to
American Welding Society classifications, etc., resulting from a research project
conducted by Case Western Reserve University and sponsored by SFSA. Revised 1985 |

Supplement 10 - A Glossary of Foundry Terms
s10.pdf
 |
(4,510kB)
 |
This supplement was developed as a glossary of terms used in the Steel
Castings Handbook - Fifth Edition published by Steel Founders' Society of
America. It is not, therefore, intended to be an inclusive glossary of all foundry
terms. Supplement 10, however, is useful on its own as a reference piece
regardless of the Steel Castings Handbook and thus has been published as
such. Revised 1985 |
|
Supplement 11 - Hardenability and Heat Treatment
s11.pdf
 |
(3,602kB)
 |
A booklet showing step-by-step the process for determining the hardenability of
a steel casting. The method of making needed calculations has been simplified
by using tables rather than curves, and examples are given to show how these
tables should be used. Computation of the ideal critical diameter, the end
quench curve, and hardness traverse, and the percent of martensite present in
various depths in a section of a steel casting requires only addition and
interpolation from tables. Revised 1985 |
