| SFSA: Help - Page Layout |
The SFSA Pages are currently undergoing massive reorganization.
Some of SFSA pages contents do not yet conform to the standard described
here (We are working on it).
The author of these Web site pages has made an effort to keep the pages as simple as possible. The intention is serve the greatest number of users; users who may connect with low speed lines. Where possible graphics are made an option to allow the user to choose to load the image.
The SFSA Web site is setup so that skeleton of one page will look like the skeleton of every other page. This is done to provide some cohesion and standardization to this Web site. The contents of this page points out the layout seen on all SFSA pages. Currently the Netscape extension to HTML 3.2 are the standard used for all pages. However, the layout is done in such a way that the appearance of each page is acceptable to browsers which do not support these extensions.
Page Header
The first line on every page is some centered, hold text declaring that you are indeed on the Steel Founders' Society of America Web site. If you ever leave the official domain of the Web site, that text will not be there.
Also found at the top of every page is a graphic. For browsers that support tables, this will be on the left side of the table. This graphic will change depending upon which section of the Web site you are located. Clicking on the image brings you back to the main page for the section.
Either right below, or to the right of the graphic described above (depending on which browser you use) will be a either a graphic image or some large heading text. Both convey the same information by pointing out the contents of the page or pointing out which sub-section you are located.
The above text (or graphic) will always be present, Another header may appear below the table (if your browser supports tables)
Finally, a horizontal rule separates the header information from the actual contents of the page.
Page Footer
At the end of each page is another horizontal rule that separates the footer from the document content. Below this rule and center is a text toolbar.
At the very bottom of every page is an icon and some miscellaneous information that indicates that the page was specially designed to take advantage of the Netscape HTML extensions. Also, the date the page was last edited.
Backgrounds
The background images and colors also will give some hint as to where you are on the SFSA Web site . For example, all of these help pages are light blue. Also, the colors chosen should still allow you to distinguish normal text, unvisited lined text and visited linked text (our hope and way).
