These can include reduced leadtime, lower part weight, reduced machining operations, fewer subassembly components, elimination of welded or fastened joints, reduced tolerance stack-up, reduced scrap, complex internal structures can be cast into a part, complex shapes can be easily produced as castings.<p> SFSA, in conjunction with the <a href="http://www.afsinc.org">American Foundrymen's Society</a> and the <a href="http://amc.aticorp.org">American Metalcasting Consortium</a>, is producing a series of practical examples in metalcasting design.
